Celebrating 10 years of @bravehound_uk.

The Scottish Veterans Commissioner’s Office was pleased to be represented at a special anniversary event featuring stories and poetry from Major General Tim Hodgetts (rtd).

Actor and BRAVEHOUND patron, Jason Isaacs had also recorded a selection of the poems, including A Conversation with my Dog, written especially for the anniversary.

Congratulations to the whole BRAVEHOUND team on 10 years of supporting the veteran community.

An inspiring example of remembrance and reconciliation in action.

As a Trustee of the Thistle Trust, I visited the British Embassy in Berlin for an exhibition recognising the work of the community in Kutenholz.

Led by Debbie Bülau BEM, the community has created memorials to those who fell in the area during the Second World War and continues to connect with their families.

Kutenholz is where Lieutenant Robin Tudsbury lost his life. The Robin Chapel in Edinburgh was built in his memory.

It was also a pleasure to meet Anthony Wilson of the Royal British Legion Germany District and Robert Collington of its Berlin Branch.

Scotland’s only national memorial to the Indian Army personnel who served during the First and Second World Wars is taking shape at @kelvingroveartgalleryandmuseum in Glasgow.

It was fascinating to hear @colourfulheritagescot's plans and to visit the museum’s display, which shares the stories of servicemen from pre-Partition India, including Force K6, based in the Scottish Highlands.

I was joined by Glasgow’s Veterans Champion, Councillor Abdul Bostani; Charanjit Singh Sangha, the son of Naik (Corporal) Gian Singh VC; and David Boe, National Chairman of Legion Scotland.

An important memorial to service, sacrifice and a shared history.
