I attended a very helpful meeting this week with Kevin Kane, CEO of @sharedparentsco, and Mark Downie, their Armed Forces and Veterans Manager.
Our discussion highlighted the importance of ensuring that all family members affected by separation have access to the help they need, especially children, in order to achieve better outcomes for families and communities.

Leaving the Armed Forces is a process unique to each person.
One Transition, Many Lives is a new film from Forces in Mind Trust following four different journeys from military to civilian life.
It shows how personal circumstances, family life, preparation and access to support can shape what happens next.
Most people transition successfully and bring valuable skills and experience into civilian life, but the right support still matters.

I am delighted that my term as the Scottish Veterans Commissioner has been extended.
It has been an honour to serve Scotland’s veterans and their families since taking up the role in 2022.
I look forward to continuing to champion veterans’ voices and push for change where it is needed.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support and engage with my work.

Bereaved veterans and families should not have to search across different websites to find help.
@beyondthewireuk's new interactive Bereavement Hub brings clear information and support together in one place.
Thank you to the staff and volunteers who support the bereaved military community.
Find out more about the hub or read our Support for the Bereaved Community report via the link in our bio.
