Progress reports

An important aspect of the SVC role is to provide scrutiny and supportive challenge to policy makers and those providing services to the veteran community. Beginning in 2019, the SVC has published an annual electronic Progress Report tracking the progress made in implementing the Commissioner’s recommendations from his / her thematic reports. The electronic reports highlight successes as well as areas requiring more attention.

Since the office of the SVC was established in 2014 there have been 10 thematic reports published, resulting in a total of 87 recommendations made to Scottish Ministers, all of which have been accepted in full. The 6 most recent recommendations made in 2024 will be assessed for the first time in 2025.

A highly enjoyable and informative Armed Forces Week event at the @barclaysuk campus in Glasgow, meeting veterans, reservists and support organisations as well as hearing more about Barclays' approach to recruiting and retaining talent from the military community - something I covered in my recent report on Veterans and Finance.
